Waitlist Privacy Notice (GDPR)

pocket.ceo — waitlist / alpha sign-up

Version: 1.0 · Date: 2026-06-21

This notice explains how we process your personal data when you join the pocket.ceo waitlist to be told when the service launches or when alpha access opens. It covers the waitlist sign-up only — it does not cover data processed inside the application itself (that is described in a separate Privacy Policy).

1. Data controller

The controller of your personal data is:

VALITY Łukasz Wątroba — sole proprietorship (jednoosobowa działalność gospodarcza, JDG), registered address: Kretowskie 44, 43-436 Górki Wielkie, Poland, NIP (Polish tax ID): 5472086879, REGON (Polish business register no.): 24361592800000, registered in CEIDG (the Polish business register), website: https://pocket.ceo.

Contact for data-protection matters: hi@pocket.ceo

No Data Protection Officer (DPO) has been appointed, as it is not mandatory at this stage. For all data-protection matters, contact: hi@pocket.ceo.

An EU representative under Art. 27 GDPR is not required, because the controller is established in Poland — that is, within the European Economic Area.

2. What data we collect

When you sign up to the waitlist we collect:

  • email address (required) — so we can contact you;
  • first name or display name (if provided) — to personalise our messages;
  • optional Twitter/X handle (if provided) — voluntary.

Providing your email is voluntary but necessary to add you to the list and notify you about launch. The other fields are entirely optional.

3. Purposes and legal bases

PurposeLegal basis
Running the waitlist and sending service-related messages (welcome email, project-status updates, surveys, launch / alpha-access notifications)Your consent — Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (given by joining the list and ticking the consent box on the form). The consent covers receiving the indicated messages by electronic means, including commercial information (Art. 10 of the Act on the provision of services by electronic means)
Defending against claims and demonstrating compliance (accountability)Our legitimate interest — Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR

We do not use your waitlist data for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Recipients (processors)

To run the waitlist and send messages, we use external providers:

  • Resend (email service provider) — stores your contact data as a contact and sends, on our behalf, service-related messages (welcome email, project-status updates, surveys, launch notifications). Resend processes data on infrastructure in the USA (and/or the EU). Processing takes place under a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) concluded with Resend; where data is transferred to the USA, it relies on the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and — where the provider participates in the programme — the Data Privacy Framework (DPF). A DPA with Resend is in place, and transfers to the USA rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) and the Data Privacy Framework (DPF).

The page hosting the form may also run the analytics tool Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC, USA), which uses cookies to collect usage data. Analytics cookies require your prior consent (Art. 399 of the Polish Electronic Communications Law in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Cookie behaviour — including the legal basis and how to withdraw consent — is described in a separate Cookie Policy.

A consent-management mechanism (CMP) with Google Consent Mode v2 is in place on the landing page: the GA4 script is loaded only after prior consent is given, and before consent no analytics cookies are set.

Beyond the above, we do not share your waitlist data with other parties unless required by law.

5. Transfers outside the EEA

The contact data you provide on the waitlist may be processed in the USA by Resend (and, if active, by Google via Google Analytics). The USA is not covered by a general European Commission adequacy decision; transfers rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and — for providers participating in the programme — the Data Privacy Framework (DPF). We will provide information about the safeguards used on request.

Transfer mechanisms by provider: Resend — SCC + DPF; Google — the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (DPF): Google LLC holds an active DPF certification (https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks).

Note: this concerns the waitlist data only (email, optional name and Twitter/X handle). Processing of content inside the application itself (including by AI providers) is described in the separate service Privacy Policy and is not covered by this notice.

6. Retention

We keep your waitlist data:

  • until the service launches and waitlist-related communication ends, or
  • until you withdraw consent / object or unsubscribe — whichever happens first.

After that period we delete or anonymise the data, unless further retention is necessary to demonstrate compliance or defend against claims for the duration of the applicable limitation period.

If the service does not launch, waitlist data is deleted at the latest 24 months after sign-up.

7. Unsubscribing and withdrawing consent

At any time and without giving a reason, you can:

  • leave the waitlist and withdraw your consent — by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in the footer of any of our messages, or
  • by writing to: hi@pocket.ceo.

Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it and does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

Because recipients may be located in the USA, our welcome and marketing emails comply with the US CAN-SPAM Act: accurate sender identification, a working unsubscribe (opt-out) mechanism, and unsubscribe requests honoured within 10 business days. You can unsubscribe by writing to hi@pocket.ceo or by clicking the “unsubscribe” link included in every message.

8. Your rights

To the extent permitted by the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • access your data (Art. 15),
  • rectification (Art. 16),
  • erasure — the “right to be forgotten” (Art. 17),
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18),
  • data portability (Art. 20),
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21),
  • withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7(3)),
  • lodge a complaint with the Polish supervisory authority (President of the Personal Data Protection Office — UODO, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, Poland).

We handle requests without undue delay, as a rule within one month (extendable by a further two months for complex requests).

To exercise your rights, write to: hi@pocket.ceo.

9. Age

The waitlist is not directed at persons under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect their data. By signing up, you confirm that you meet the required age.

10. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice if the law, our providers, or the scope of waitlist processing changes. The current version is always available on the sign-up page.

Binding version: The binding version of this document is the Polish version. The English version is provided for convenience only; in the event of any discrepancy, the Polish version prevails.
